A Series of Rigorous Tests at the 55 Pitt Street Project, Sydney

The façade system of 55 Pitt Street has successfully passed a series of strict performance tests in accordance with AS/NZS 4284, Australia’s national façade testing standard. These results provide strong confidence for the upcoming production phase, ensuring that the façade system will deliver high performance and full compliance with international quality standards.
PMU Test Completion – 55 Pitt Street, Sydney

To ensure the façade system fully meets Australia’s stringent technical requirements, BM Windows conducted the PMU (Performance Mock-Up) test following AS/NZS 4284. Unlike conventional testing methods, the façade mock-up was rotated and tested inside a controlled chamber to accurately simulate real-world conditions — including wind pressure, heavy rainfall, extreme loads, and harsh environmental factors.

Through this process, the system was comprehensively evaluated for water tightness, air permeability, wind load resistance, and overall durability.
Achieving passing results across all criteria, BM Windows reaffirmed that its façade solution is engineered for long-term reliability and fully compliant with Australia’s technical standards.
Façade Impact Resistance Test
In addition to the PMU test, the 55 Pitt Street façade system also underwent Soft & Hard Body Impact Tests — procedures required under Australian regulations to assess impact resistance under real-life scenarios.

During these tests, a 50kg soft body and a 0.5kg hard body were released from standard heights to evaluate the structural integrity of the façade panels and framing system.
The goal: to ensure that even under sudden or extreme impact, the façade maintains absolute safety and structural stability for both users and the building itself.
