Facade Engineering course brings Façade into University Education in Vietnam
BM Windows and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology introduce a Facade Engineering course, creating a practical learning pathway for future engineers in Vietnam.

In the context of a construction industry that increasingly demands higher building performance, architectural aesthetics and sustainability, façade is no longer viewed as a separate building component. It is gradually becoming a specialized engineering field that requires interdisciplinary thinking, technical knowledge and close coordination between design, manufacturing and on-site execution. Bringing façade closer to formal education therefore carries a meaning that goes beyond the scope of a single course. It opens a more systematic pathway for the next generation of engineers in Vietnam to approach façade as a professional discipline.
From this direction, the Facade Engineering course was developed through the collaboration between BM Windows and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – VNU-HCM, marking a meaningful starting point in the journey of bringing façade into university education.
Beyond providing foundational engineering knowledge, the course is designed to stay closely connected with industry practice, helping students gradually build a clearer understanding of the role of façade systems in modern buildings.

After the first classroom sessions, the students’ learning journey continues to expand through practical activities such as learning at BM Windows’ office, visiting project sites and touring the company’s factory.
Through these experiences, students have the opportunity to directly observe construction and manufacturing environments, gaining a deeper understanding of how a façade system is developed from design concept and engineering development to quality control, manufacturing and final installation on real projects. This connection between academic learning and practical experience makes the knowledge more visual, dynamic and closely aligned with the future work of an engineer.

A distinctive aspect of the course lies not only in its technical content, but also in the continuous guidance of the BM Windows team, who accompany students as mentors and as a bridge to real industry practice.
Through each class, each technical sharing session and each site visit, students are introduced to façade as a specialized engineering field, where materials, technology, manufacturing, quality management and project execution are closely linked. This also allows the course to help students develop systems thinking and a more comprehensive perspective on the industry.

For BM Windows, accompanying the university in the Facade Engineering course is an important part of its long-term commitment to contributing to human resource development for the façade sector in Vietnam.
Through the collaboration between enterprise and university, the course is built with a strong connection between academic knowledge and industry practice, allowing students to access façade engineering in a more structured way from their time at university. This is also how BM Windows continues to accompany young engineers step by step, contributing to a stronger foundation for the long-term development of Vietnam’s façade industry.
Through this course, BM Windows reaffirms its commitment to supporting the next generation of Vietnamese engineers, not only by sharing knowledge, but also by creating opportunities for practical exposure, nurturing professional thinking and opening long-term development pathways in the façade field.
